Looking for information on different types of Gaggia Coffee Machines? The idea for Gaggia was born in 1938 when its founder, Achille Gaggia, applied for a patent for the first modern steamless coffee machine.

The new design meant that the water was forced to flow over the coffee grounds at high pressure, producing something that is unique to espresso today – the crema.

In 1948 the company was eventually formed and began manufacturing coffee machines for commercial purposes but eventually went into the domestic market which is where Gaggia are best known.

Nowadays, they make a mix of traditional espresso machines and super modern automatic versions where everything from the grinding, brewing and dosing is done for you.

Gaggia have really been a pioneer in the coffee machine industry for about 70 years now. Why? Simply because they use the best materials, have the best quality workmanship and have access to the latest and greatest technology.

While they remain mostly dedicated to producing true espresso machines, they now manufacture (as mentioned earlier) the super automatic machines and also a wide range of coffee accessories.

As the name suggests, this is a fully automatic espresso machine that measures and grinds the correct amount of coffee and then goes about making the coffee for you.

You can make them from any intensity from mild to strong and the movable drip tray allows you to use different cup sizes each time.

The exterior finish is a stylish stainless steel covering which is what you would expect from a high end appliance. There is also an intuitive LCD screen interface to program a function or select a desired function.

The Gaggia 90051 also comes with built-in ceramic burr grinder which of course has adjustable settings.

Other features include a stainless steel heated cup warmer, the ability to make two cups of coffee at the same time and a large 57-ounce water reservoir.

People who have used this machine simply love it. They note that the steam wand is easy to use and more importantly easy to clean. Furthermore, the steam is consistently hot and you can make a cappuccino in about 2 minutes – which is great if you are in a rush before work or need to get somewhere.

Another handy feature of this espresso machine is the maintenance feature that allows you to set a descaling schedule. All you have to do is test the water hardness and the machine will automatically set a time frame and alert you of when the unit should be descaled.
